Who would have ever thought that we would see high quality after-market decals for the Hawker-Siddeley Argosy or the Blackburn Beverley in 1/144 scale.

Well, Xtradecal once again proves their commitment to British subjects, whether famous or obscure, with this new 1/144 scale decal release devoted to both of these 1950s British heavy transport aircraft.

Seven subjects are covered.

Hawker-Siddeley Argosy C.1:

  • XR106, ‘106/473’, 114 Squadron, Royal Air Force Air Support Command,  RAF Benson, June 5, 1971;

  • XN817, ‘817’ Aeroplane & Armament Experimental Establishment, Boscombe Down, 1982;

  • XP412, ‘412’, 105 Squadron, RAF Khormaksar, Yemen, 1966;

  • XR106, ‘106/473’, 70 Squadron, RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus, 1975;

Blackburn Beverley C.1:

  • XL149, ‘X/149’, 242 Operational Conversion Unit, RAF Lyneham, September, 1958;

  • XM112, ‘112’ 34 Squadron, RAF Seletar, Singapore, September, 1962; Blackburn Beverley C.2,

  • XL149,’X’ 84 Squadron, Royal Air Force Middle East, based at Eastleigh, Kenya, 1967.

Instructions for the decal sheet are in full colour across one folded double-sided A4 and one double-sided A5 sheet. Both side views plus upper and lower views are provided for all seven aircraft.

A selection of national markings plus handy trim and pin stripes are included. The sheet should cover seven models.

Colour notes are offered, along with model paint callouts for Xtracolor enamels and Xtracrylix acrylics.

As usual, the decals are beautifully printed and feature thin carrier film.

This new Xtradecal release will be very welcome for anyone building the MicroMir 1/144 scale Argosy and Beverley kits.
