Item No. 71-4326 J.A.S.D.F. F-15J 303rd TFS 60th Anniversary
1/48 scale
This scheme gives us a very detailed set of one of the F-15J JASDF 303rd TFS 60th Anniversary (2014) schemes based around a digital camouflage scheme.
This F-15J scheme is based around a multi-coloured digital disruption grey scheme. My research to find photographs of the real aircraft basically came up with one underside of the aircraft in flight.
The decal set consists of 2 glossy A5 sheets with the majority of the digital scheme.
It also has an A6 sheet with a full set of stencils and Hinomaru as well as 2 A4 sheets with detail instructions for positioning the myriad of decals provided.
These decals are printed by Cartograf so we know they will go on well and conform well.
Item No. 71-1108 J.A.S.D.F. F-15J 303rd TFS 60th Anniversary.
1/144 scale
This set is the same scheme as the aircraft above but for a 1/144 F-15J. The set consists of one A6 sheet of glossy decals, again printed by Cartograf and one double sided A4 instruction sheet.
The sheet has the digital camouflage as well as a fairly comprehensive set of stencils for the aircraft with at least 65 decals to apply. Good luck with this on such a small model without disturbing any previously applied decals. I see this as a multi-night process.
Item No. 71-7123 F-2A J.A.S.D.F. 3rd TFS 60th Anniversary.
1/72 scale
This scheme gives us a very detailed set of one of the F-2A JASDF 3rd TFS 60th Anniversary (2014) schemes based around a blue digital camouflage scheme. The decal set consists of a glossy A5 sheet with the digital scheme, as well as a comprehensive stencil set.
One double-sided A4 sheet with detail instructions for positioning the myriad of decals is provided. These decals are printed by Cartograf so we know they will go on well and conform well.
This F-2A scheme is based around a multi-coloured digital disruption blue/grey scheme with a bright catching red tail. My research to find photographs of the real aircraft came up with more than the F-15 above with a number of really clear shots of this stunning scheme.
As a model builder with an interest in great schemes which in my case are Tiger Meets and the odd other scheme. The JASDF have created some really awesome schemes over the past 10 years or so, on a wide range of aircraft and helicopters and these 2 schemes certainly have continued that tradition. DXM have produced high quality and detailed sets for us. The company is based in Taiwan and searches show that the product can mainly be purchased through them or Hong Kong based companies only, so be prepared to order online only.
One good point is that the F-15J set is available in 1/144, 1/72 and 1/48 scales and the F-2A is available currently in 1/72 and 1/48. This will keep the majority of modelers interested will be catered for.
A good and interesting product.
Thanks to DXM for the samples.
