IPMS Vancouver Show 2018 |
Hobby Boss' 1/72 Macchi C.200 Saetta is available online from Squadron for only $10.99!
The IPMS Vancouver show takes place at the Bonsor Community Center in downtown Burnaby, British Columbia: near a mall so large it has a couple of stores repeated. IPMS Seattle and the Northwest Scale Modelers club were again well represented with a strong contingent of attendees and models.
The only real problem with the show is the early 5am departure time required to drive up from Seattle. I was assigned to be driver for our small group and, as usual, we met for an early breakfast.
Shockingly, we were allowed across the Canadian border, even with a tank modeler in the car, and made it to Burnaby bright and early on a beautiful fall day. This year the show added a second vendor room and had about ~500 models or so in the contest.
Some models of interest on the tables included a nice Airfix Me-262 in Czech markings, a 1/72 Sonia, the IPMS Canada award winning Spitfire IX in 1/32, a vacu-form Waco by Tim Nelson, and out of the box builds of the Valom Abermarle and Matchbox Heyford.
Cheers!
