Tamiya's 1/48 P-51B Mustang is available online from Squadron.com for only $26.99!
The Yakovlev UT-1b was an improvised light attack aircraft based on the single-seat trainer UT-1. The most distinct feature of the type is the two ShKAS machine guns mounted on the wings and with the uncovered cylinders of its radial engine I think it really looks the part.

The kit from the Ukrainian manufacturer Mikro-Mir offers a very good basis and despite its short-run nature the fit is quite good. However, quite some work is required to make this model accurate and I had to redo the cockpit almost entirely, including the seat.

The landing was also heavily modified, and the M-11 engine of the box replaced by a resin copy from Vector.

Documentation on this aircraft is scarce, but the flight manual of the two-seater UT-2 is of great help.
