Tamiya's 1/48 P-51B Mustang is available online from Squadron.com for only $26.99!
This is my 1/32 scale Hobbycraft P-51 Mustang 1A finished in RAF markings ( May 1944 ).
The Hobbycraft is kit is a scaled up version of the 1/48 Accurate Miniatures Mustangs so the same problems are also present here like pointy shape spinner, wrong wheel wells sidewalls etc. I left them as they are for this project.
I decided to modify the cockpit using the Vector set. It is excellent with great fitting into the fuselage.

Great details too.

The British harness is from Eduard set.
Underwing recognition lights are deleted. RAF Allison Mustangs did not have these.

I used Gunze and Tamiya acrylics for RAF camouflage painting.

Other modifications are:
-
Barracudacast P-51 wheels.
-
Mastercasters P-39 fishtail exhausts
-
Resicast lens for landing lights
-
Rear view mirror and antenna mast are from my spare box.
Happy modelling!
