Finnish Brewster B-239 Buffaloes

Special Hobby's 1/48 scale Finnish B-239 is available online from Squadron

Here are my two Special Hobby 1/48 scale B-239 kits.

The subjects are:

BW-368 of 3/LLv 24 flown by Kersanti Nils E. Katajainen during September 1941.

Katajainen claimed 8,5 victories + 4 damaged while flying this aircraft between August 1941 and  November 1943.

BW-384 of 3/LLv 24 flown by Vääpeli Lauri V. Nissinen late in September/early October 1941.

Nissinen claimed 11,5 victories + 1 damaged while flying this aircraft between September 1941 and June 1942.

Both were built in the same way. The only differences are in the individual and identification numbers, addition of the unit insignia and canopy wich remained unpainted on BW-368 at this time.

First step: work on the engine

Step 2: Work on the cockpit

Step 3: assembly (CMK control surfaces added on BW-384)

Step 4: painting (all enamel colors)

Step 5: decals (from Inscale 72 and spare box)
