Aircraft Enthusiasts Fair 2017

Trumpeter's 1/72 scale Vickers Wellington Mk.X is available online from Squadron

The 2017 Aircraft Enthusiast Fair was on Sunday 19th November. Held at the Museum of Army Flying, Middle Wallop. The show, took place in the Museum's main hanger, the Hayward Hall. The event attracted some 19 Model clubs, and 16 Traders stalls selling books, magazine, photographs, aviation memorabilia and modelling equipment.

The museum is located beside the Army Air Corps Centre and was established in 1987.

Fixed wing aircraft include, an Airspeed Horsa, Cessna O-1 Bird Dog, de Havilland DHC-2 Beaver, General Aircraft Hotspur and a Waco Hadrian to name but a few.

Rotary wing aircraft are represented with the following types, a Bristol Sycamore, Bell AH-1 Cobra along with a Westland  Gazelle, Lynx, and Scout among others.

Some of the static aircraft are on the museum floor, while other exhibits are hung from the hanger roof.

There are numerous other displays around the perimeter of the hanger, which include glider operations during WW II, and a 1940s style house.

The show was well attended with ample parking. The Apache Cafe which looks over the airfield was open all day with a varied menu Including all-day breakfast, jacket potatoes, cakes, tea and coffee.
