Eagle Cals has introduced another fine quality decal sheet into their range this time depicting schemes for four De Havilland Mosquito B.Mk.IV/PR.Mk.IV of the Royal Air Force.

The decals are designed for the new Tamiya Models 1/32 scale kit.  The decals are superbly printed with good colour saturation and excellent register.  The carrier film is ultra thin and my experience with the EagleCal decals that I have used in the past is that the decals have to be handled carefully and snuggle down into the surface detail well.  The carrier film then almost totally disappears under a coat of clear.
Markings are provided for four aircraft as follows:

  • De Havilland Mosquito PR.Mk.IV LY-G DK310 of No 1 Photographic Reconnaissance Unit of the Royal Air Force in August 1942.  The aircraft is finished in Dark Green and Dark Slate Sea Grey upper surfaces and PRU Blue under surfaces.  The Spinners are Sky Grey.

  • De Havilland Mosquito B.Mk.IV HS-F DK333 of 109 Squadron of the Royal Air Force in 1944.  The aircraft is finished in Dark Green and Ocean Grey upper surfaces and Night under surfaces.  The Spinners are Night.  This aircraft has a white “Grim Reaper” painted on the nose.

  • De Havilland Mosquito B.Mk.IV AZ-B KB195 of 627 Squadron of the Royal Air Force in June 1944.  The aircraft is finished in Dark Green and Ocean Grey upper surfaces and Medium Sea Grey.  The Spinners are Night.  This aircraft has full fuselage invasion stripes and lower wing invasion stripes painted on.

  • De Havilland Mosquito B.Mk.IV GB-N DK337 of 105 Squadron of the Royal Air Force in May 1943.  The aircraft is finished in Dark Green and Ocean Grey upper surfaces and Night under surfaces.  The Spinners are Night.  This aircraft has an “Uncle Sam” carrying a bomb under his arm painted on the nose.

  • De Havilland Mosquito B.Mk.IV AZ-Q DZ415 of 627 Squadron of the Royal Air Force in early 1945.  The aircraft is finished in Dark Green and Ocean Grey upper surfaces and Night under surfaces.  The Spinners are Night.

The instruction sheet is nicely printed in colour giving good decal placement details.
