Advantages: |
Superb quality. |
Disadvantages: |
None noted. |
Recommendation: |
These excellent quality M-2 guns look far better than any kit’s injection moulded items. As supplied, they are suitable for simple early-style handheld or fixed mounts; but they could be suitable for late-war installations if combined with scratch-built gun-mount adapters, ammo feed chutes, and reflector sights. I hope Eduard considers releasing these items as well.
I highly recommend these very nice machineguns. |

This set provides six replacement M-2 .50” Browning aircraft machineguns. All six can be completed as fixed or manually operated guns, or any combination of these, with a choice of left or right side ammunition feed (although no ammunition belts, boxes or feed-chutes are supplied). The manually operated option features one style of ring & bead sights, but keep in mind that there were several types, with different mounting positions on the gun’s receiver/casing and barrel than the two indicated in Eduard’s instructions.
There is no reflector or computing gun-sight option, nor gun-mount adapters, of which there were several types; but I guess Eduard has to draw the line somewhere. This, and the lack of feed-chutes, largely limits the guns as supplied to simple early style mounts; but they are most welcome nonetheless.
Perhaps Eduard will consider issuing some gun mount adapters, reflector sights, and feed chutes to make the guns suitable for late-war installations.
For many Eduard is a brand name synonymous with superb quality, and this is certainly the case with the items reviewed here, from the packaging and instructions, to the actual components. The parts come packed in a clear blister pack with foam cushioning and include printed instructions.
The instructions are also downloadable in as a PDF from Eduard’s website, to view these please click here.
The guns parts are beautifully cast with easily removable casting-blocks.
The PE handgrips, back-plates, charging handles, and gunsights are also well made.

Thanks to Eduard for the samples and images.
