Review Type:

First Look.

Advantages:

Excellent research, very crisp production quality, great value, and interesting subjects.

Disadvantages:

None apparent.

Conclusions:

I agree with Mark Davies conclusion of the smaller scale versions of the same decals:

"This set of Corsair schemes from fundekals is very well researched with photographic support in abundance. The colours & markings guide is attractively produced with wealth of information concerning the various subjects, and is almost worth the price without the decals. The decals also appear to be of the highest production quality.

This is amongst the best presented and researched decal packages I have reviewed. I think that they represent tremendously good value given the number of schemes covered and quality of supporting information.

I highly recommend them."

FirstLook

This new set of decals available from Fundekals is dedicated to USMC -1As from the Solomons to Okinawa including VMF-214, 215, 223, 321, 351, 441 & 512. There are a few aces present and accounted for, such as “Pappy” Boyington, Marion Carl, and Donald Aldrich.

The set is nearly identical to the 1/72 and 1/48 scale sets Mark Davies has reviewed here, the only exception being, this set only includes the USMC markings, a separate set is available for the Royal navy options found here. I don’t feel there is any need to reinvent the wheel, so would recommend a look over Marks review, which I find accurately describes this set also.
