Masterpiece Models has released two simple but very effective bases for your Soviet, Eastern Bloc and modern Russian aircraft models in either 1/32 or 1/48 scales.

These resin bases feature the characteristic Soviet-style hexagonal concrete panels.

Each base is cast from a white-coloured lightweight resin material, which feels almost as light as foam but still looks and feels like regular resin on the top surfaces. The pattern is cast at a slight angle. One edge of the tarmac is depicted, along with a groundwork verge.

Casting quality is excellent on both bases. There are only a few minor pinholes that may easily be filled, or even used as a handy mount for some weeds!

The bases are packed securely between foam and bubblewrap inside stout cardboard boxes.

The bases are supplied in one piece each. Just hit the base with a coat of grey primer, then add paint and weathering to taste.

These are simple but very effective ways to display your Soviet, Eastern Bloc and modern Russian aircraft models.
