Advantages: |
Good scale finesse, good quality, very comprehensive, and jigs for missile fins is a nice touch.
|
Disadvantages: |
None noted. |
Conclusions: |
This is a most worthwhile detail set to enhance Revell’s F/A-18C, and is ideal to combine with their resin detail set and vac-form canopy for the same kit (BRL144104). I am happy to recommend it. |

The PE Fret comes in Brengun’s standard card header with cellophane bag and instructions attached by staples. The instructions are well-drawn and easy enough to understand, although some illustrations will benefit from being enlarged with a scanner or photocopier.
The parts address the cockpit quite extensively, given its very small size; and even include canopy mirrors and a photo-foil for the HUD. Just as thoroughly catered for are various airframe and weapon details.
I shall not describe everything offered; a scan of the instructions and photos of the PE applied to the model do a better job of this than I can in words.
Suffice to say that the undercarriage, weapons pylons, control actuators and various antennae are all catered for. Also worthy of mention is a boarding ladder and missile fins with jigs included to aid their alignment.
If you wish to make the most of Revell’s kit you can combine this PE set with Brengun’s resin detail set and vac-form canopy (BRL144104), which I reviewed here on HyperScale in May this year.
