Pavla's 1/72 scale
Sea Gladiator Mk.I

by Paolo Ruffato

Gloster Sea Gladiator Mk.I

Airfix's 1/72 Gladiator Mk.I is available online from Squadron

Description

The Gladiator Mk.I from Pavla is a basic kit, but it’s not too simple to build.

Substantially the kit is a short-run with a lot of resin parts.; the cockpit, with lateral panels, the engine and its cowl, the main landing gear’s wheels, arresting hook and some antennas.

The only aftermarket piece I bought separately (Quickboost) was the exhaust because the standard parts were unacceptable. This is strange, because Pavla put many resin parts in the box, but not these two.

I reproduced the N5519, based in Malta in 1940. I chose this version for its curious painting scheme; the lower surfaces are painted half in black and half in white.

I built it almost straight from the box but I added the Quickboost engine cowl and exhaust.

A good kit, but it is necessary to pay attention during the construction.
