Fine Molds' 1/72 scale
Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6
by Brett Green

Eduard's 1/72 Fw 190 A-8 is available online from Squadron
Here is the kit that I built alongside Eduard's Wurger - Fine Molds' 1/72 Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6.

I wanted to compare the Eduard kit to the best 1/72 scale single-seat Luftwaffe fighter kit that I could think of, and the Fine Molds kit is a worthy contender even more than ten years after its original release.

The model was build straight from the box except for Eduard SUPERFABRIC harness straps, a piece of copper rod depicting the trailing FuG 25 antenna, and Xtradecals markings from their sheet no. X72197.

Fit is excellent and the surface detail is crisp and fine. All shapes look good too.
I will be writing up a detailed comparison piece between these two very nice kits in Issue 59 of Military Illustrated Modeller.

Kit purchased by me.
