Eduard's 1/32 scale Bf 109 E-4 is available online from Squadron.com
Hi fellow model maniacs!
As stated before in my last article, I was going to give Eduard´s release of the 1/48 Bf-109E-1 a try.
This is the Weekend Edition built straight from the box. Compared to the earlier one in 1/32 in this project I did not add any scratch built details as I wanted to focus on fit and painting effects.
The kit is pretty much the same in both scales in term of details and construction form, being obviously a bit simplified in 1/48 but still very sharp nonetheless.
I was happy to see that some fitting problems were solved in this scale/kit.
The model was painted using Testor's Model Master enamels. Decals were very nice to work with and they bonded really nicely to the surface. The scheme is the standard RLM70/71/65 with fuselage sides oversprayed in RLM02/65. Post-shading was done with an airbrush and some dilluted black paint, and some black ink for the details.
This is my fifth 109E in 1/48, you can see it here next to other kits: Pegasus, Hobbycraft, Airfix and Tamiya. I have another one on the stash, a Hasegawa that is so I can compare kits when they all have been built.

After that it´s just a matter of time before I get another 109E kit!
