Maurizio Di Terlizzi has sent images and information on the newest releases from Tail Boom Models - full-sized multimedia kit of the British WWII Mk.II and Mk.II* gunsights:

Here is my latest item in full scale, the Barr & Stroud Mk II gunsight. Built as usual in non toxic resin, it has been cast directly from an original MK II*.

The modeller can choose between two kits:

  • MK II: is the one used during the Battle of Britain on Spit, Hurri, Defiant etc... It has a curved glass onto a curved head. Part number is 7a/1124. Seen on Spitfire Mk II, V, especially on Malta based a/c. The kit is composed of 28 parts.

  • MK II*: the asterisk indicates the new, upgraded version, with a new head with brackets, and new, squared glass. Part number is 6b/2361. Seen on late Mk V and all british fighters and fighter-bomber until 1944-45. The kit is composed of 31 parts.

Parts are cast from an original, so they can be assembled as per the originals. Wheels rotates and the lower wheel can be screwed on the main body. The kits are available and shipped worldwide.

These are strictly limited productions, so be quick if you want one.
