Legend Productions is probably best known for its resin armour upgrades and conversions, but it also offers a growing range of aircraft accessories.

The latest of these is a full cockpit set for Revell's very nice 1/32 scale Heinkel He 162.

Legend's 1/32 scale He 162 cockpit comprises 29 parts in grey resin. The casting is perfect on my sample. Detail is just gorgeous.. The largest parts are the kit sidewalls, which have structural detail, cables, conduits and the shrouded cannon barrels all cast in place. The seat is an equally impressive piece of work, with cushions and a realistically draped harness cast as part of this single part. The rear bulkhead is also cast with wiring in place.

Smaller parts include rudder pedals (cast with draped toe straps), the instrument panel, side consoles, a lovely oxygen regulator and more.

Legend provides a double-sided glossy instruction sheet with a parts map and a photographic guide to construction over 12 images. Although the instructions do not mention it, you will have to scrape or grind off the moulded raised sidewall detail on the insides of the kit fuselage.

Paint colours are not called out, but the photos make it pretty obvious.

Conclusion

The cockpit in Revell's 1/32 scale He 162 is basic in some respects; particularly the seat, the bulkhead and the side console.

Legend's resin replacement cockpit is a massive improvement, and will be highly visible under the big bubble top canopy.

Highly Recommended.

Thanks to Legend Productions for the review sample
