HK Models recently released 1/32 scale Meteor F.4 is generally a very nice model, but it does not correctly capture the elusive curves of the forward jet engine nacelles and intakes.

Fisher Model has noticed this and issued a simple two-piece correction set.

Fisher Model's 1/32 scale Meteor Long Chord Corrected Intakes replace the equivalent area on the kit with large once-piece resin castings. Casting quality is perfect on my sample, and panel lines are crisply recessed. Each part is completely seamless, and the wing spar covers are cleverly cast in place.

Comprehensive instructions are supplied that will take you step by step through the preparation and installation process. This conversion does require some of the plastic to be cut away from the front of the kit nacelles, so take your time. Measure twice and cut once is the best advice I can offer here!

Note that the intakes are not identical - they are handed port and starboard. The instructions are quite clear about which one goes on what side.

It would appear that the resin parts themselves are ready to use straight out of the bag. The recessed casting plug at the back of each resin part will assist in the secure fit of the intakes to the kit's wings.

Fisher Model & Pattern's corrected long-chord Meteor intakes are a simple but quite noticeable upgrade to HK Models' kit.

Although some minor surgery is required, this will be within the skill set of most modellers with a few kits under their belts.

This will be a highly desirable upgrade for anyone building the HK Models Meteor.
