Background

The Kh-25ML is the laser guided sub variant of the Russian built Kh-25 missile family.

The missile uses a semi active laser guidance seeker head and is used primarily against hardened concrete surface targets.*

FirstLook

The set contains parts to build 2 individual missiles. Construction is very straight forward with removal of the parts from their casting blocks being the only significant amount of work that needs to be done.

The rear warhead housing is separately cast and is keyed to aid in alignment with the rear of the missile body. This will result with a firm and squarely glued joint. Two choices for the seeker head is provided; one with and one without the protective seeker head cover. A clear resin seeker head is provided should you chose the former option.

The launch rail is also well done with a single piece of etch used for on the top of the rail. Appropriate stencils are supplied for both the missile and the launch rail.

Care will need to be taken when removing the guidance fins from the pour blocks as the fins have small alignment pins that are used to position them on the missile body.

Conclusion

Eduard are doing a fantastic job in growing their modern ordnance accessory line. The Kh-25 is another gap filled in the Russian subset of ordnance. I wonder what they will release next?

Recommended.
