US Modern Pilot
Very lovely cast figures, in fact the level of detail far exceeds that seen in a lot of 1/72 plastic aircrew. I would love to see more seated aircrew for 1/144 scale aircraft. Painting this tiny scale will certainly be a challenge.
MiG-15 Photo-Etch
Having built some 1/144 kits, the main disadvantage with plastic and even resin is achieving scale thickness and realistic detail in such small scale. This set specifically adds detail to the cockpit and undercarriage. The cockpit tub, ejection seat, and instrument combing are replaced with PE. A small acetate sheet contains instrument faces for the instrument panel. Given the size of the parts and the almost origami like folds used on some frets, this set is recommended to those who are experienced with PE in small scales.
F-85F Sabre 335th FS Decals
Designed specifically for the Trumpeter 1/144 F-86F, this set from Brengun is reliant on the original decals to provide the major markings like unit stripes, star and bars and 335th insignia. What the Brengun set does is allow you to build your own Squadron of 335th FS Sabre’s. The decals are well-printed, minimal carrier film, with even the small print being legible. You get six options with aircrew names, aircraft names, tail numbers and kill markings.
These are three very lovely 1/144 scale sets from Brengun. They are highly recommended for the more experience modeller due to the scale and size of these aftermarket items.
Thanks to Brengun Models for the review sample.
