US Scooter Fire Fighter
This resin kit is one of a series of five scooters that AERO Line/ Plus model has released. Cushman began making Auto-Glide scooters in 1936 as a means to increase the sale of Husky engines during the Great Depression. Cushman scooters were widely used by the US military in World War II and as an alternative to automobiles before and after the war. One famous Cushman was the model 53, a military model from the WWII era. Designed to be dropped by parachute with Army Airborne troops, it became known as the Cushman Airborne. Other models were used on military bases for messenger service, or in this case the DELUXE AUTO-GLIDE , was unsurpassed in hill climbing, had a two speed transmission, disc clutch and was designed for pulling a Side-Kar (Sic), with a top speed 34 miles and hour was used for fire fighting.
This latest release from AEROLine comes in their standard card backed blister pack, the resin contains no flaws, and the positioning of the casting blocks will reduce the amount of cutting and cleanup. The construction appears to be relatively straightforward; the kit also includes a small PE fret and wire to add additional detail to your completed scooter. The painting guide is simple and the decals are minimal. Once completed this little scooter will look excellent on your latest airfield diorama or vignette.
US Pilot F-105
Is this Tom Selleck in resin? The F-105 pilot comes in a blister pack that contains padding to protect the resin, decals, resin helmet bag, and our moustached, garrison cap wearing fighter pilot. While there is no painting guide, references will greatly assist here. The decals are the same as in all the previous US Aircrew releases so it would be nice to see some more variation that included additional patches like the TAC and SAC shields for these resin aircrew.
Overall another great aircrew rendition.
I highly recommend both of these resin products. Both are well cast and will look great in any airfield diorama.
