Advantages: |
Exquisite scale finesse, superb quality, very good instructions. |
Disadvantages: |
|
Conclusions: |
Well worth the purchase price in my opinion as they are far more to scale than what you find in the kit (have a look at the image of the F-8 pitot tube!) as well as being more robust and resistant to “accident” whilst handling your completed models – Highly recommended. |

Master is a company based in Poland that produces first rate turned brass and aluminum aftermarket items for aircraft in 1/72, 1/48, 1/32 and 1/24 scale in their Air Master range and ship models in their Sea Master range to 1/200, 1/350, 1/400/1/700 scale. There is also a few turned brass items to 1/35th scale too.
In the main, their products are gun barrels. Some of these are two-part assemblies with separate barrels and cooling jackets.
Other items produced by Master are turned aluminum pitot tubes and WWII Luftwaffe radar antenna arrays, again, in 1/72, 1/48, 1/32 and 1/24 scale.
Recent additions to their pitot tube range include the following items:
- AM-24-006 BAE Harrier GR.1/T.2/AVA-8A/AVA8C pitot tube and angle of attack probe in aluminum,
- AM-24-007 BAE Harrier GR.3/T.4 pitot tube and angle of attack probe in aluminum
- AM-24-008 BAE Harrier FRS.1/FRS.51 pitot tube and angle of attack probe in aluminum
- AM-48-067 Chance Vought F-8E/F-8J Crusader pitot tube in brass.
These really are a joy to behold. They are absolutely perfect and without blemish. The 1/24th scale pitots even have a small “divots” in their ends to simulate their hollow tube. The Harrier ones include the “flared” ends as well as a generous “spigot” which will allow you to fit them into a 1mm hole that you have to drill at the end of the nose on your kit whilst the 1/48 scale F-8 pitot has a scribed line around it to show you how far to insert it into your kit’s nose.
Each of their pitot tubes come backed in a plastic envelope which is packed in turn into a further plastic zip-loc bag along with a small instruction sheet that guides you in the placement of as well as to the colour of the pitot. A thick piece of cardboard that prevents the items being bent and a stapled header card round out the packaging.
Well worth the purchase price in my opinion as they are far more to scale than what you find in the kit (have a look at the image of the F-8 pitot tube!) as well as being more robust and resistant to “accident” whilst handling your completed models – Highly recommended.
Thanks to Master for the review samples.
