For years a big problem that I have encountered in my model building is the accuracy and durability of plastic pitot probes and angle of attack vanes. Plastic parts are thicker, have a seam to be removed and when fitted are generally the first part to suffer accidental bumps and knocks. I then resorted to metal pins, till I discovered sewing machine needles that had a profile similar to some pitot probes. Other aircraft probes are more suited to hypodermic needles. All of these are still only a 50% solution, they have the strength but not the correct profile.

Enter “MASTER reality in Miniature” with their extensive range of turned brass and aluminium products. All products come in a heat sealed bag, backed by cardboard all within a ziplock bag. Each come with a set of A5 instructions detailing drill size, alignment and painting requirements.

These parts are all well produced as you can see in the scanned images of some parts, including the location holes for attachment of AoA vanes on some aircraft. A word of caution, some parts are very small, I did not want to remove the Harrier parts for fear of losing some parts.

Conclusion

These are a great aftermarket product, I have actually purchased many Master F-111 pitot probes for my F-111 collection.

My Thanks to www.master-model.pl  for the review samples
