BRL144018 – Airco DH2 strip-down - 1:144 scale full kit

This gem of a kit will test the dexterity of your fingers as well as your eyesight!

Inside the box are 8 resin parts that take care of the nacelle, choice of 2 or 4 bladed prop, engine, tyres, gravity tank and machine gun barrel. The other 2 round items are for pressure forming the photo-etched spoke wheels (and a very ingenious tool it is too!).

Not surprisingly, p-e is also used for the rest of the kit, where the overall fidelity is paramount. It’s amazing how much detail has been incorporated into the aircraft…remember this is a 1:144 scale model with a wingspan of less than 65mm (2.5 inches).

The metal is very flexible so a lot of care is needed during the bending process. To ease assembly, as much of the structure as possible is etched as a single piece.

For a detailed look at the construction process, see here http://www.hauler.cz/downloads/BRS144018.pdf

Importantly the parts come in a sturdy box to protect these delicate items. Although it’s a kit for experienced modellers, those with a little patience should be able to complete the course unscathed.

BRL48051 – Focke-Wulf Fw190-A5

for 1:48 scale (Eduard kit)

This set contains 6 resin parts and two frets of photo-etched metal. There’s also an acetate sheet which one uses for the instrument panel. The wheels are depicted with weighted tyres and resin is also used for the reflector gun sight and tail wheel yoke. The p-e enhances these latter two areas and also provides for the pilot’s seatbelts.

Other metal parts take care of the rudder pedals/straps, bracket for the aforementioned gun sight glass, trim wheel, and decking behind the pilot’s cockpit (which also has a separate hatch cover).

BRL32008 – British walk board – 1:32 scale

These were seen atop the wings of many aircraft during servicing. The flexibility of the metal used allows it to easily conform to the model’s surface.

BRL32007 – US Bomb racks – 1:32 scale

These can be used to replicate empty or full bomb racks. Pins are supplied for the latter to secure the bomb and there are enough items for 3 “hardpoints”.

BRL32006 – WWI cowling fasteners

1:32 scale (50 pieces)

The idea behind these is to drill a hole in the cowl and insert the fastener through a suitably shaped backing plate (2 types). As a result there are 3 items per “set” with the total number of sets being 50.

BRL32005 – WWI turnbuckles – 1:32 scale

Three sizes of turnbuckle are found on the fret and their application is simple. Just drill a small hole at the appropriate spot on the aircraft, insert the part, and then attach the “cable” by your favourite means.

These are more welcome additions to the Brengun range of products.
They are simple to use and may be just what you need to enhance your latest masterpiece.

If you require a challenge, you can’t go past the DH2!
