Mobius' 1/72 scale Skipjack Class Sub is available online from Squadron

Here is my Mobius Models 1/72 Skipjack class sub. This big model is more than 40" long!

It goes together nicely ,some filling and sanding when joining the forward and aft sections together..One thing while building this model ,one has to glue the conning tower on so you can have a hand hold on the model while sanding itn.It has been the largest model I have built.

I used Tamiya Dull Red spray can for the lower hull color with Tamioya Nato Black for the middle color and gloss black spray can ( Tamiya ) for the upper hull.and for the escape hatches Testor's Model Master International Orange. I then masked off the ballast vents with masks for the sliver vents.

I used my last can of Tamiya gloss for the gloss coat,then on to decals. Just out of the box for them. They went on okay and settled down nicely.

All in all a big build had to overcome and some issues but I carried on. I am glad I did it but I think I will do some smaller ones next like the 1/48 Tamiya F4U-1D ,which I is on its gear.
