Tamiya's 1/32 scale P-51D Mustang is available online from Squadron.com
On 25 of March 1945, while escorting B-17 Flying Fortresses enroute to the target area, Lt. Roscoe Brown looked and spotted a formation of jets in the distance. Brown spotted these aircraft before but never had the chance to engage. Knowing this time would be different, Lt. Brown instinctively called for the formation to drop tanks and follow him. As Lt. Brown and his flight members jumped into the formation, Brown hammered down on the trigger on his P-51D Mustang and got the Messerschmitt Me262 right in the middle. With that, Roscoe Brown became the first 15th Air Force fighter pilot to shoot down a Me262 jet fighter. Lt. Roscoe Brown later downed a German Focke-Wulf Fw190 fighter. For his achievements in combat, Brown was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal.
This 1/32 Tamiya North American P-51D Mustang represents the very aircraft Brown flew in when he shot down the Me262 jet fighter. It carries Barracuda aftermarket resin parts for the cockpit, wheels, cockpit stencils as well as aftermarket decals to replicate his machine. This is a great representation of this beautiful aircraft and the pilot he flew it.
