Sometimes you have to do something different.
Recent opportunity for me was Tamiyas appealing pilots-tug set, which fitted nicely to a Eduard F6F Hellcat I had just started with. “Something different” refers to figure painting, which I had not tried so far.
I liked the poses of the five pilots: I think they can be arranged in a nicely interacting scene but look quite meaningful and descriptive as standalone figures as well.
I exchanged some of the life jacket and parachute straps with painted strips of Tamiya masking tape, painting was done with airbrush, dry-brush and colours from Gunze and Tamiya.
The motor-tug is a nice little and well equipped model which I loved to build. All in all I had much fun with this new experience!
Please take a look on the painting steps on the JAM Forum.
