Here is my second Trumpeter 1/48 scale Me-509 Vorserie.
It is important to know that this is an entirely hypothetic aircraft, that has never been built. Displaying a DB 605 engine buried in the middle of its fuselage and a tricycle landing gear, it should develop the general Bf-109 to a P-39 like design. All developments had been stopped with the end of the forgoing Me-309 project; that was in 1943. You can find some more words to the history of this design in my first Me-509 article.
I was interested in having a thoroughly weathered and used looking counterpart to the first one, so I did choose markings which could have been found east front in the middle of the war. The emblem and the markings beneath the cockpit indicate a machine of III /JG 53.

What will be found opening the box are reasonable detailed parts which will provide excellent fit. A small etched parts frame offers the harnesses and, very useful, two radiator grilles.
As far, I would prays this kit as a not over ambitioned but pleasing experience. This judgment does not include the decals, which are of the worst quality. My advice: please don´t get angry and put them straight into the dustbin. It may be a comfort that the offered markings are really not fancy; quite sure you will find more inventive alternatives in your spare box.

If you are interested in the building process, please have a look on the workbench at the JAM Forum:
