Tamiya's 1/32 scale
F4U-1 Birdcage Corsair

Description

The good news; probably the best surface detail rendered ever on an aircraft model of the scale.

The bad news; although the fit between parts is very good, some putty work is required. Moreover, the building process is a far cry from the traditional Tamiya shake and bake that I also experienced with the Spitfire and the Mustang of the scale.

Decals continue to be too thick to compliment the fine surface texture.

I had to scratch build ignition harness and wheel bay piping.

Bottom line; a challenging and a rewarding built.
