The engine comes packed in a zip-lock plastic bag stapled to a card header.

Also included is sheet of paper with simple painting directions and a list of aircraft that used the engine. In the case of the geared R-1340, this is a long one:

Augusta AB-102

Curtis Falcon

Grumman Mallard

Norseman

Air Tractor

Curtis F7C

Grumman Ag Cat

N.A. BC-1

Ayres Thrush

Curtis SOC

Howard DGA-6

N.Z. T-6/Harvard

Bach Air Yacht

Curtis O-52

Junkers W34

Northrop Alpha

Boeing Model 40

Curtis P-6S

Junkers Ju 52

Northrop C-19

Boeing Model 247

DHC-3 Otter

Lockheed Vega

S.A. Twin Pioneer

Boeing F3B

Douglas Dolphin

Lockheed 8 Sirus

Sikorsky H-19

Boeing F4B & P-12

Fokker F.10

Lockheed 9 Orion

Sikorsky S-38

Boeing P-26

Fokker F.32

Lockheed 10 Electra

Vought O2U Corsair

CAC Ceres

Ford Trimotor

Lockheed XC-35

Weddell-Williams 45

CAC Wirriway

Gee Bee Racer

Loening CL-8

Westland Whirlwind

The engine has extremely fine detail. A very nice feature is having a gap between the pushrods and cylinders despite their being part of the same casting.

This makes life a lot simpler than replacement engines that require the modeller to make the pushrods.

Conclusion

This is a very good quality replacement engine for a wide range of kit subjects. I would also encourage readers to check out other items in the Radial Engines & Wheels 72 range. I am happy to recommend this product and the range as a whole.

Thanks to Red Roo Models for the review sample.
