Blenheim and Mustang Replacement Wheels
BarracudaCast
HyperScale is proudly supported by Squadron.com
BarracudaCast is the resin accessory arm of Roy Sutherland's Barracuda Studios enterprise.
BarracudaCast's latest batch of high quality replacement resin wheels are:
BR48050 - P-51 Mustang Oval Tread Pattern Wheels
BR48051 - P-51 Mustang Hexagonal Tread Pattern Wheels
The Mustang wheels will be suitable for any 1/48 scale kit ranging from the A-36 Apache through the P-51 A-K variants. The hubs of the wheels are see-through, with the outer hubs being supplied as separate parts - a nice touch. Both the patterns were widely used, so these will be versatile accessories for Mustang modellers.
BR48058 - Bristol Blenheim Mk.I-IV Main Wheels (1/48)
The modelling community has not exactly been crying out for a replacement set of wheels for the various Blenheim kits currently in the marketplace, but BarracuadCast's head-honcho, Roy Sutherland, clearly likes the type. BarracudaCast's 1/48 scale Blenheim wheels are beautifuly cast, and a great improvement over the undersized, poor;y proportioned and basically detailed items included in the Classic Airframes kits. The only problem is the relative lack of availability of the Classic Airframes kit, although you can sometimes find one on ebay or at swap meets.
BR72057 - Bristol Blenheim Mk.I-IV Main Wheels (1/72)
Finding a 1/72 scale Blenheim for BarracudaCast's lovely small-scale resin wheels should be easier though, with the Frog, Airfix and Special Hobby kits. Once again, these resin wheels are a great improvement over the various kit parts.
Each wheel is supplied with the bottom of the tyres subtly bulged and flattened. Both the 1/48 and 1/72 scale wheels even include perfectly legible raised "Dunlop" lettering on the sidewalls.
Casting and detail is up to BarracudaCast's usual superlative standards on all my samples.
These are all simple yet highly desirable finishing touches for your Mustang and Blenheim projects.
All Highly Recommended.
