This is an excellent decal sheet produced by PT decals in 1/32 Scale depicting French Air Force/Navy Dewoitine 520, Morane Saunier MS 500, Douglas SBD-5, SNAC NC.500, Grumman F6F-5 and Bell P-39Q.

The decals are superbly printed by Dutch Decals with good colour saturation and excellent register.  As usual the carrier film is ultra thin and my experience with Dutch Decals that I have used in the past is that the decals snuggle down into the surface detail well.  I always use decal setting solution but this is not absolutely necessary.  The carrier film then almost totally disappears under a coat of clear.

The decals provided for the aircraft are as follows;

  • Dewoitine D.520 Serial No 243 G8 flown by Capitane Justin Gisclon in France during the summer of 1945.  The aircraft is finished in overall RLM 70 or 71.  The French cocarde is in 6 positions and the rudder is in the usual red/white blue national colours.

  • Morane Saunier MS.500. Serial No MA1 Criquet of No 2055 Mobile Base in Indochina in late 1949.  The aircraft is finished in overall RLM 70 or 71.  The French cocarde (A) is in 6 positions and the rudder is in the usual red/white blue national colours.

  • SNCAC NC.900 Serial No 23 of GC III/5Normandie-Niemen Toussus-le-Noble in 1946.  The aircraft is finished in overall RLM 70 or 71.  The French cocarde (S) is in 4 positions and the rudder is in the usual red/white blue national colours.

  • Bell P-39Q GC 1/9 Limousine 2eme escardrille La Reghaia in May 1945 based in Algeria.  The aircraft is finished in standard USAF Olive Drab upper surfaces and Neutral Grey lower surfaces.  The French cocarde is in 6 positions.

  • Bell P-39Q GC 1/9 Limousine 1eme escardrille La Reghaia in May 1945 based in Algeria.  The aircraft is finished in standard USAF Olive Drab upper surfaces and Neutral Grey lower surfaces.  The French cocarde is in 6 positions and the rudder is in the usual red/white blue national colours.

  • Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat  22 Flotille 11F Bach-MaiAB based in Hanoi Vietnam in 1954.  The aircraft is finished in over all USN Gloss Sea Blue.  The French cocarde is in 6 positions and the rudder is in the usual red/white blue national colours.

  • Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat  1 Flotille 12F Bach-MaiAB based in Hanoi Vietnam in 1954.  The aircraft is finished in over all USN Gloss Sea Blue.  The French cocarde is in 6 positions and the rudder is in the usual red/white blue national colours.

  • Douglas SBD-5 Dauntless  Flotille 4F  based on Aircraft carrier Dixmude in Vietnam in 1947.  The aircraft is finished in over all USN Non-specular Sea Blue and Intermediate Blue on the upper surfaces and White lower surfaces.  The French cocade is in 6 positions.
