Air Asia is a Malaysian-based low-cost airline. The airline is Asia's largest cut price airline and a pioneer of low-cost travel in Asia.

The Air Asia group operates domestic and international flights to over 400 destinations in 25 countries.

Since 2004 Air Asia has been upgrading their fleet of 737’s and replacing them with over 90 A320-200s.

This set (14401) contains enough decals for two aircraft and covers the two different schemes seen on the 90+ Air Asia A320 fleet. The main difference between the two schemes is that they differ primarily in the size of Air Asia.com logo on the fuselage.

Scheme 1 has the smaller Air Asia.com logo for the fuselage and looks to be relatively straightforward.

Scheme 2 uses the larger Air Asia.com logo, and here some prior planning will hopefully assist you toward a great looking aircraft. As the instructions point out, the fillet at the wing-fuselage join affectively covers the lower parts of the word Asia in the company logo (as indicated by the red circle).  Looking at the Revell instructions the Fillet is moulded onto the fuselage, so a possible option is to ensure you have a new scalpel blade so that when the decal is in place you can trim around the fillet using it as your template.

All the national flags appear to be very nicely in register,  there are enough letters to cover all aircraft in the Thai or Malaysian fleet.

While not mentioned on the decal instruction, there appears to be only one 1/144 scale A320-200 available, which is the Revell kit.

These lovely decals from Kiwi Decals give you the option to produce a very colourful A320. As always good references and planning will ensure a great looking airliner.
