Living up to the high standards of its predecessors is issue 7 of “Wings of the Black Cross”.

There are 36 pages between the soft card covers with the format being slightly wider than A4. This is ideal for this publication where the reader wants the images to be reproduced to a size where the maximum amount of detail can be gleaned from each picture.

The publication is essentially a collection of photographs that cover a wide variety of Luftwaffe aircraft. Day fighters, night fighters, bombers, ground attack and even transport aircraft are among the range of subjects. The reproduction is as good as the originals allow with an average of 2 images being displayed per page.

Complimenting these is a selection of colour profiles from Thomas Tullis. The renditions are simply superb and 8 pieces of artwork are presented to the reader.  One of these is a newly discovered Bf 109 G-6 flown by Erich Hartmann. It is based on original film but unfortunately permission has not been granted to have any of the stills published.

So if you have any interest in aircraft of the Luftwaffe, then this publication will provide plenty of inspiration for your next build.
