Windsock Worldwide is an A4 sized magazine that caters specifically for WWI model aeroplane enthusiasts. Inside are 32 pages crammed with a wealth of information on a broad range of topics.

Lance Krieg continues his popular “Modelling Master Class” series and this time he takes a detailed look at struts and rigging techniques. There are sketches that help educate the reader on flying wires, landing wires and even the types of knot that can be used for simulating them. Making turnbuckles is another theme that comes under the spotlight. The skills of numerous modellers are showcased in the article and the informative text is backed up with a multitude of colour images.

“Rara Avis” looks at some of the more unusual aircraft designs thanks to general arrangement drawings from the late Ian Stair. This issue presents the Wight Navyplane and is given the usual double page spread of 1:72 scale planes.

“Great War Paint” looks to be the start of a fascinating new series and the first installment is the Macchi M.5 in Italy 1917-1918. There are 3 pages of colour schemes for the modeller to salivate over and hopefully the artwork will inspire a few decal manufacturers as well.

Ray Rimell visits Skysport Engineering and takes a look at their Avro 504K which is being built to original specs and drawings. Authentic components are being incorporated into the reproduction and close-up images have been made available to the reader.

Fans of R/C aircraft will need no introduction to the Dawn Patrol group. With their 1:3 scale models they have been demonstrating their flying skills at LMA displays since 2008. Photos of their steeds accompany the article as well as information on their activities.

Rounding out the publication are 9 pages of reviews that cover kits, books, decals and accessories.
