Fisher Model and Pattern 1/32 scale
RB-51 "Red Baron" Racer

by Ed Kinney

RB-51 Red Baron Racer

Tamiya's 1/72 scale F4U-1 Corsair is available online from Squadron

Description

This limited run (originally 200, but now only 50 kits remaining) full resin 1/32 scale RB-51 "Red Baron" Racer kit by Paul Fisher is one of the nicest from his stable I’ve had the pleasure of building.

Also, its one of the easiest to assemble resin kits out there and would make an ideal first time attempt into resin aircraft assembly.

The model, except for brake lines and inner gear door retraction rods is box stock. Paints used were Tamiya lacquers, decanted from the spray cans and sprayed through a Paasche “H” Airbrush. Numerous coats of clear with hand polishing between coats gave it a mirror smooth finish.

The two part build review is available on the IPMS/USA website at http://web.ipmsusa3.org/content/rb-51-red-baron-reno-racer-part-1 and
