Tamiya's 1/32 scale Spitfire IXc is available online from Squadron
Here is Tamiya's new 1/32 scale Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc.
When you open the box, you find a lot of parts - enough to make the aircraft in three versions, including a tropical one.
The quality of the model is that we expect, fantastic. The detail is very good and the unions are perfect. practically no need to use putty. Actually the model is very nice to build.
On the other hand, the number of parts is so high that it makes it an unsuitable model for the impatient.
The cabin is in itself another model, with an original instrument panel. When I made this kit was not available aftermarkets, but really not needed. I've only added one pair of wires to increase the detail.
The model includes a detailed engine, which will be required to do so in order to mount the propeller. The panels that cover the engine are made of resin and have a system of magnets to cover / uncover the engine itself. For me, this is the worst managed, because the fit of these resins is not perfect to have a central magnet, instead of magnets on each side removable panel.
In conclusion, a model which requires effort because the large number of its component parts and the size of the model, but having no mold marks or defects, is mounted very nice.
It would be great, brands were capable of releasing similar models of quality in a more or less common.
I'm waiting for the next 1/32 scale release from Tamiya.
I dedicate this article to my friends Model34.
