Description

Here is my 1/48 Tamiya P-51B. This aircraft SN42-106894 was flown by Raymond S. Wetmore (370th F.S., 359th F.G.) from 7 May to 2 July 1944. He claimed about 10 victories while flying this aircraft. She's depicted here in June 1944.

Paints used are Testor's Model Master enamel paint "chrome silver" 1790, and some aluminium color on few panels.

The invasion bands are Humbrol enamels black (33) and white (34), the base of the green on the nose is Humbrol enamel emerald (2).

All the paints were applied with my Testor's Aztek airbrush and polished with cotton. Decals are from Aeromaster 48-634 "Green Nose Mustangs of East Wretham pt 1"

Weathering consists with applying "China Ink" sepia color in the lines between the panels (structure lines), and a "juice" made with Tamiya smoke diluted with water and applied with a wide brush.
