Trumpeter's 1/72 scale RA-5C Vigilante is available online from Squadron.com

Here is my Trumpeter 1/48 Scale RA-5C Vigilante

The kit was built using the Black Box Combat Series cockpit set which was quite an improvement over the kit cockpit. 

I had originally intended to use the Cutting Edge correction set for the nose profile but after comparing the resin parts with the kit parts I decided the inaccuracies of the kit nose were not worth the effort required to cut and correct the kit and doing so would create more issues than it was worth. 

I did replace the inaccurate upper fin part with that supplied in the Cutting Edge set. 

I also replaced the engine nozzles with resin replacements from Aires which are also an improvement over the kit parts. 

The kit was finished in Xtra Color FS16440 Light Gull Grey and FS17875 White. 

The markings are from Zotz Decals and portray an aircraft from CVW-14 RVAH-1 “Smokin Tigers” Serial Number 156615 based on the USS Enterprise in the West Pacific from April 1978 to October 1978.
