Model Alliance Decals, 1/72 & 1/48

Model Alliance continues to produce excellent quality decals.  This time they have delivered another fine decal sheet depicting two BAE Systems Hawk display aircraft of 208 SQN, 4 FTS based at RAF Valley and RN Yeovilton in 2009. The set is available in both 1/72 MAS 729037 and 1/48 MAS 489037.

The decals are superbly printed and they have good colour saturation and are in perfect register.  As usual with Model Alliance decal products the carrier film is ultra thin a

The set includes a full set of data decals for both aircraft.

The markings provided for the two aircraft are as follows:

1. BAE Hawk T.1 XX301 of FRADU based at RNAS Yeovilton in May 2009 commemorating 100 years of Naval Aviation.  This aircraft is finished in Overall Gloss Black.  The tail fin is finished in overall red, white and blue.  The navy flag is painted on the top of the fin with the years 1909 to 2009 is painted above.  The motto “Fly Navy 100” is painted at the base of the fin.  The words “100 Years of Naval Aviation” are painted along the fuselage side just above the intakes.
2. BAE Hawk T.1 XX325 of No 208 Sqn based at RAF Valley in the display colour scheme for 2008.  This aircraft is finished in Overall Gloss Black.  A large Red, White and Blue lightening flash runs along the fuselage from the nose to tail.  A large RAF roundel is painted on the tail fin and the underside fuselage.
