Dutch Profile has recently released markings in 1/32 scale for seven Dutch Spitfire LF Mk. IXs and one RAF Swordfish.

The decals are provided for the aircraft are as follows:

  • Supermarine Spitfire Mk. LF Mk. IX LSK, of the Royal Netherlands Air Force serial number NH328 H-60 of No 322 Sqn based at Semarang in the Dutch East Indies in 1948.  The Aircraft is finished in Gloss RAF light Grey and Gloss Jungle Green upper surfaces and Light Blue lower surfaces.  The anti glare panel is painted in Olive Drab and the spinner is finished in black.  The canons are positioned in the inboard position.  This aircraft has the early rounded rudder and clipped wings.

  • Supermarine Spitfire Mk. LF Mk. IX LSK, of the Royal Netherlands Air Force serial number MH434 H-53 of No 322 Sqn based at Semarang in the Dutch East Indies in 1949.  The Aircraft is finished in Gloss Jungle Green upper surfaces and Light Blue lower surfaces.  The anti glare panel is painted in Olive Drab and the spinner is finished in orange.  The canons are positioned in the inboard position.  This aircraft has the early rounded rudder and clipped wings.

  • Supermarine Spitfire Mk. LF Mk. IX LSK, of the Royal Netherlands Air Force serial number MJ893 H-69 of No 322 Sqn based at Semarang in the Dutch East Indies in 1948.  The Aircraft is finished in Gloss Jungle Green upper surfaces and Light Blue lower surfaces.  The anti glare panel is painted in Olive Drab and the spinner is finished in orange.  The canons are positioned in the inboard position.  This aircraft has the early rounded rudder and clipped wings.

  • Supermarine Spitfire Mk. LF Mk. IX LSK, of the Royal Netherlands Air Force serial number NH188 H-64 of No 322 Sqn based at Semarang in the Dutch East Indies in 1948.  The Aircraft is finished in overall light Blue FS5109.  The anti glare panel is painted in Black and the spinner is finished in white.  The canons are removed and this aircraft has the early rounded rudder and clipped wings.

  • Supermarine Spitfire Mk. LF Mk. IX LSK, of the Royal Netherlands Air Force serial number MK632 H-13 of the DeelenAB Fighter Training School in 1947.  The Aircraft is finished in RAF Dark Sea Grey and Dark Green upper surfaces and RAF Medium Sea Grey lower surfaces.  The spinner is finished in Red and the aircraft has a Sky fuselage band.  The canons are positioned in the inboard position.  This aircraft has the early rounded rudder with a RAF fin flash and clipped wings.

  • Supermarine Spitfire Mk. LF Mk. IX LSK, of the Royal Netherlands Air Force serial number MJ893 H-104 of No 322 Sqn based at Semarang in the Dutch East Indies in 1948.  The Aircraft is finished in RAF Dark Sea Grey and Dark Green upper surfaces and RAF Medium Sea Grey lower surfaces.  The spinner is finished in Sky and the aircraft has a Sky fuselage band.  The canons are positioned in the inboard position.  This aircraft has the early rounded rudder and clipped wings.

  • Supermarine Spitfire Mk. LF Mk. IX LSK, of the Royal Netherlands Air Force serial number PT986, 3W-16 of No 322 Sqn based at Soesterberg Air Base in 1947.  The Aircraft is finished in overall Silver finish.  The anti glare panel is painted in Black and the spinner is finished in Blue.  The canons are fitted in the outboard position and this aircraft has the late pointed rounded rudder and clipped wings.

  • Fairy Swordfish Mk.II serial number LS298 of No 860 Sqn of the Royal Netherlands Navy, O Flight MAC Ship, MV Acavus in 1943-45.  The Aircraft is finished in RAF Extra Dark Sea Grey and Dark Slate Grey upper surfaces and White lower surfaces.  The lower surfaces of the upper wing is in Black.

The decals are superbly printed with good colour saturation and excellent register.  As usual, the carrier film is ultra thin and should snuggle down into the surface detail well if care is taken.
