Background
Kits At War is a small decal manufacturer from The Netherlands who specialize in WWII Allied aircraft markings in small numbers (150 sheets). They can be contacted at www.kitsatwar.nl for their latest sets and from where they can be purchased.
The Decals
Beautifully printed by Decal Print, also from the Netherlands, this sheet covers 20 aircraft from four Commonwealth Nations.
Mosquitos :
8 RAF, 85, 105, 162, 235, 248, 627, 692 Sqns.
1 RCAF, 404 Sqn.
1 RAAF, no Sqn. noted.
1 RNZAF, 488 Sqn.
Aircraft covered are Mk IV, IV (Special) “Highball”, VI, XV, XVI, XVIII (Tsetse).
Beaufighters:
5 RAF, 46, 144, 235, 255, 604 Sqns
1 RCAF, 404 Sqn. One aircraft with 2 different markings.
1 RNZAF, 489 Sqn.
Aircraft covered are Mk. I, II, VI, X.
Kits At War’s instruction sheet is presented in black and white but where a colour is different, it is noted on the sheet. There are also no national markings except for one set of RAAF roundels and fin flashes but this would not be a problem to most modellers. Most markings are not numbered except for a few very small items which are picked out in the instructions so take care and study then well.
There is something for everyone here, no matter what your liking. Nightfighter, Dayfighters, Bombers and Attack from Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, you're bound to find something of interest.
