P-400 / P-39 Wheel Wells

Hasegawa's 1/48 scale P-39 and P-400 kits feature busy wheel wells. Unfortunately, however, they are not an authentic representation of the wheel wells in the real aircraft.

Vector has expanded its accessory range to release its first wheel well set. The wheel wells are specifically designed for Hasegawa's 1/48 scale P-39 / P-400 Airacobra family.

This is a beautifully detailed set with the left and right wheel wells supplied as two seprate parts. Structural detail, plumbing, electrical wiring, raised bolts and bulkheads are all cast into place. Only one additional detail part per wheel well is also provided, so construction will be very straightforward.

The wheel wells are each cast onto a thin base of resin. This will be easily removed by sanding the base with medium grade abrasive paper or a coarse sanding stick.

Vector's 1/48 scale P-400 / P-39 wheel wells are a real improvement over the kit parts, and should be quite straightforward to install.
