Hasegawa's 1/72 scale Lancaster B. Mk.I/III is available online from Squadron
Here is Hasegawa’s 1/72 scale Avro Lancaster Mk.III, built straight from the box.
Even with its few faults I still think it is easier to build than the new Revell Kit that I have stashed away. I am dreading tackling the outer wing dihedral issue on that kit.
I corrected one of the two major faults with Hasegawa’s kit in reducing the tail wheel diameter, but I did not reduce it enough.
I did not move the canopy hatch that should be positioned further aft, but I will eventually replace the entire canopy now that I have the Falcon vacform item.
Another criticism has been the lack of detail in the cockpit. I did
think about an Eduard detail set but most of this is not visible when the kit is finished, so I did not add any extra detail.
I am very happy with the finished product except for the incorrect canopy.
The kit is finished in Xtracolour Extra Color Dark Earth and Dark Green upper surfaces, with Humbrol Semi Gloss Black underneath.
The decals are those supplied in the kit, but I am still looking for a correct sized R to add to the Goering statement under the bomb tally. This was a problem with the kit decals.
