Eduard's 1/48 scale I-16 is available online from Squadron

After researching for a subject to model I came across and interesting book written by Frank Tinker, an American who went to fight in the Spanish Civil War. It turns out he was the first American to encounter and shoot down a Bf 109 on July 17 1937, which was flown by 1936 Olympic gold medalist Major Gotthard Handrick.

This is the 1/48 scale Eduard Royal Class kit converted to a Type 5 with a Squadron canopy. I used a brass rod to mount it for an in flight look.

The identification code decals are made off the computer with an HP printer.
