Hasegawa's 1/32 scale Focke-Wulf Fw 190 D-9 is available online from Squadron

I have finally finished a five year project - my Hasegawa 1/32 Fw-190 D9 "Red 1" of the JV-44 Wurger Staffel.

This has been my most involved project to date. The Dora 9 is probably my all time favorite aircraft, so when this kit came out, I decided to make this the most detailed Dora I possibly could.

It took some time to collect all the info I needed on the aircraft and the unit itself, plus all the aftermarket resin & etched metal parts I thought would improve on the kit parts.

I've added the following parts in this model:

• Eagle Parts cockpit - just a work of art but hard to fit.

• Eagle Parts nose ring and gun cowl. New gun cowl makes the Dora not so "Dolly Parton"

• Eagle Decals - just brilliant.

• MDC Wheels and instrument decals

• 10 billion rivets added using the MDC rivet tool - arrgghh! The rivetting was really painful, but at the end of the day (or years later), it was worth it I think.

• Eduard etched metal exterior set - some parts used in wheel wells.

• Radu Briznan seat harness set - just lovely!

• Prop blades from Aeroworks - can't remember where Craig got these blades, some local guy. These are a improvement on the kit blades as they have the right chord.

• Gunze paints applied. Oils & pigments used to weather, plus a bit of paint "chipping".

Whilst this subject has been done to death in the past, to me this unit really sums up where the Luftwaffe was at in the last weeks of the war. Their graveside humour also adds to this.

Yes, I do admit I'm addicted to resin!
