Here is Trumpeter's 1/48 scale Wellington Mk.III built to represent a Wellington Mk IV.
I only added the cockpit interior as the Wellington Mk IV lacked the windows down the side of the fuselage and once the fuselage halves are joined, little can be seen.
I found that the stubs for the wing root were set at the wrong angle. If you were to follow the instruction and use the stubs, the angle of attack of the wing would be too large. I decided to remove the stubs and butt-joint the wings to the fuselage. I was nervous about such large wings being glued to the fuselage un-supported, but one dry, the butt joint is sufficient.
All my reference material showed Wellington Mk IV had spinners, so I added the spinners from a Tamiya 1/48 Beaufighter.
The model was finished with Testor's Model Master enamels - Dark Earth, RAF Green and Flat Black.
The black had various shades of red and grey added to the air brush to weather the black.
Decals were from the Trumpeter kit and represent UV-T from 460 Sqn RAAF in May 1942 which participated in the first RAF 1,000 bomber raid of the war (Cologne).
