Model Alliance has produced another fine quality decal sheet depicting RAF Air Engineering training aircraft the Beech King Air B200 and Hawker Siddeley Dominie T.MK1. The decals are available in 1/72 scale as serial number MAS-729036 and are designed for the 1/72 scale Airfix Dominie T.MK1 and the RVHP King Air B200 kits.
The decals are superbly printed with good colour saturation and register. As usual the carrier film is ultra thin and my experience with Model Alliance Decals in the past has been that the decals have to be handled carefully and snuggle down into the surface detail well. The carrier film then almost totally disappears under a coat of clear.
All the data decals for both aircraft are provided as well as the wing walkways. Five thumbnail size colour photographs of the aircraft are included in the full colour instruction booklet. The instructions are superbly printed and give good detail of the colour schemes and decal placement.
The two schemes provided are as follows
-
Beech King Air B200 serial no ZK453 of SERCO/RAF 3FTS – 45(R) Sqn based at RAF Cranwell in 2006. This aircraft is finished in Gloss White BS381:302 upper surfaces and Gloss Roundel Blue BS381C:110 lower surfaces. The vertical tail is finished in the Gloss Roundel Blue with the with the 45 Sqn 90th anniversary markings painted on it. The leading edge de-icing boots are finished in semi gloss black.
- Hawker Siddeley Dominie T.MK1 serial no XS739 of 55(R) Sqn based at RAF Cranwell in 2006. This aircraft is finished in Gloss White BS381:302 upper surfaces and Gloss Black BS381C:642 sides and lower surfaces. The vertical tail is finished in Gloss Roundel Blue BS381C:110 and outlined in Gloss Golden Yellow BS381C:356 with the 45 Sqn 90th anniversary markings painted on it. The leading edges of the wings and horizontal stabilisers are finished in polished metal.
Highly Recommended.
