This is an excellent 1/32 scale decal sheet produced by Dutch Profile depicting the Buffalo Hawk 75 and P-40N in the Dutch Air Service.
The decals are superbly printed with good colour saturation and excellent register. As usual the carrier film is ultra thin and my experience with Dutch Profile and Kits at War Decals that I have used in the past is that the decals have to be handled carefully and snuggle down into the surface detail well. I always use decal setting solution. The carrier film then almost totally disappears under a coat of clear.
Decals are provided for five aircraft as follows:
-
Brewster B-339, Buffalo Sno B-395 1e VI.Gr of the Royal Netherlands East Indies AF Semplak Bultenzorg 1941-42. This aircraft is finished in jongblad (green) and oudblad (brown) upper surfaces with natural metal under surfaces. A very nice rendition of a boars head is painted underneath the cockpit on both sides of the aircraft.
-
Brewster B-339, Buffalo Sno B-3132 1e VI.Gr of the Royal Netherlands East Indies AF Semplak Bultenzorg 1941-42. This aircraft is finished in jongblad (green) and oudblad (brown) upper surfaces with natural metal under surfaces.
-
Curtis Hawk 75A-7 Sno C-329 1e VI.gr of the Royal Netherlands East Indies AF Andir AB 1940. This aircraft is finished in jongblad (green) and oudblad (brown) upper surfaces with natural metal under surfaces.
-
Curtis Hawk 75A-7 Sno C-328 1e VI.gr of the Royal Netherlands East Indies AF Andir AB 1938. This aircraft is finished in overall natural metal with an orange and black rudder.
-
Curtis P-40N Sno 2104943 of the Royal Netherlands Military Flying School at Jackson AB Mississippi USA in 1942-44. This aircraft is finished in Olive Drab upper surfaces and Neutral Grey under surfaces. The aircraft has a sharks mouth painted on the chin.
-
Curtis P-40N Sno Sno J-320 PhotoVerkennersAfd.of the Royal Netherlands East Indies AF Medan AB 1947. This aircraft is finished in overall natural metal with a red spinner and chin.
