These are the first two sheets that I have reviewed from Authentic Decals and they look to be very good. They are packed in a clear plastic sleeve with a cardboard header with provides a solid cardboard backing for the clear plastic sleeve to be attached to. The first of the sheets for review is for the Su-25 Frogfoot sheet No 72-08. This sheet depicts 11 different aircraft schemes as operated by various Nations.
The second of the sheets for review is for the Mig-29 Fulcrum sheet No 72-11. This sheet depicts 10 different aircraft schemes as operated by various Nations.
The decals are nicely printed with good colour saturation and excellent register. The carrier film is thin but appears to be a translucent similar to the old Esci decals so they may require some decal setting solution to assist them to snuggle down into the surface detail and avoid any silvering.
The impressive thing with both of these sheets is the number of options available for each aircraft.
The instruction sheets are printed in black and white but give comprehensive details for camouflage schemes and decal placement. The instructions show 4 plan view of each scheme along with a detailed generic 4 plan view for the data decals. Most importantly a full colour cross reference chart is provided giving some approximate equivalent Federal Standard codes to some of the Russian colours and the equivalent paint codes for Humbrol, Model Master, Revell and Gunze Sanyo. The reverse side of the cardboard header has some of the camouflage schemes in colour.
The schemes for each sheet are listed below:
